I notice Jennifer says she’s using ‘fine’ silver wire. I tried this technique with ‘nontarnish’ — are these different things, or am I just not doing it right? Thanks very much.
March 12th, 2007 at 3:13 amI reckon it’s best to use sterling silver wire for this. Non tarnish wire is made out of a different material and you won’t achieve the same effect. I’m sure if you contact Jennifer through her site (click above) she would be happy to tel you more about it
March 12th, 2007 at 5:17 amRuth - thanks for the heads-up. I tried it again with the right stuff and it works like magic. Kate: your blog is a marvelous resource. Thank you for your generous work. And the same goes to Jennifer for that video clip. Cheers.

Fantastic to hear you like the site, very encouraging!
March 15th, 2007 at 12:05 amHey there Jennifer, I love your instructional videos, I’ve learned so much. I guess with pure silver wire there’s no firescale. If one were to do this with sterling, should one flux first?
