I think what you said on an earlier post was cool about jewellery being something to be admired. I'd like to add that what I love about buying jewellery is that it's like saying "I'm worth it" or for a friend, you're acknowledging that they are a beautiful person who should wear beautiful things. I think that good jewellery is essential in that respect. You have to have something that flatters you. I hope I don't sound materialistic. Some people don't like jewellery and that's fine. But I think it is one way to celebrate the beauty of this world, the beauty of colour and form and small, accidental details.

I'm at the very beginning of my jewellery making journey. This blog is very useful and I shall certainly take some advice from it. Your layout is very beautiful and clean. I like the fact that the borders reflect your interest in jewellery. The colours are wonderful and most importantly, it's very professional.

Good luck!

Thanks for the comment Kirsten. You really have something about celebrating those accidental details. The women I really admire are those who look beautiful without (seemingly) any effort. I think a certain twist in their hair or delicate earrings that reflect their eye color are much more impressive than a fake tan or thick lip liner for example. Good Luck with your journey and please keep me updated!

I agree with you so much about it being more beautiful than all that heavy make-up. I tend to wear dangly earrings everyday just because I feel it looks as though I make an effort even if I really couldn't bothered this morning.

I'm a modern languages student and I'm doing my placement in France at the moment. It's really opened my mind up to new styles of jewellery here as there are a lot of hand-crafted things here that are different to back in the UK. I'm rapidly going off buying accessories on the high street as it's so samey and I've developed quite a critical eye. I think I'd much rather go to small independent shops or stalls at festivals as I always find treasures at good prices.

I've put a link to your blog on my blog as I like it and jewellery sites cheer me up when I'm snowed under with work.
